Contessa M. Wilson


Contessa M. Wilson (Connie) graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Purdue School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences as Outstanding Graduating Senior in 1991, receiving a BSPharm degree.  She completed the executive Master of Science in Management program from Purdue’s Krannert Graduate School of Management in 1994 and the Doctor of Pharmacy program from Shenandoah University’s Bernard J. Dunn School of Pharmacy in 2002.  In 2010, Ms. Wilson completed her Juris Doctor degree, graduating cum laude, from Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis, concentrating in Health Care Law.

During law school, Ms. Wilson served on the Executive Board of the Indiana Health Law Review as Executive Symposium Editor, overseeing the McDonald Merrill Ketcham Lecture series. Ms. Wilson’s interest in veterans' benefits prompted her to write a law review article, Saving Money, Not Lives: Why the VA's Claims Adjudication System Denies Due Process to Veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and How the VA Can Avoid Judicial Intervention, recently published in the Indiana Health Law Review. She also participated in Moot Court, where her performance earned her the honor of being named to The Order of the Barristers.

In addition to her work as a skilled pharmacist, Ms. Wilson was an intern for the Marion County Superior Court criminal and civil divisions, and with the Marion County Prosecutor's Office in the Post Conviction Relief Unit. She also interned at Baker & Daniels in Indianapolis, focusing on projects such as researching changes in the False Claims Act, investigating direct-to-consumer advertising of prescription medications and FDA expectations for risk communication to the public, and participating in communications and negotiations involving divestment of mail order prescription business.

Ms. Wilson has a variety of perspectives in the health care field having served on the Board of Directors for Hoopeston Community Memorial Hospital and the Executive Board of Directors for the Hoopeston Area Healthcare Foundation. In addition, she has written a healthcare column which has been published for 6 years in the Hoopeston Chronicle.

Ms. Wilson resides in Hoopeston with her husband, Robert. She is an avid reader and enjoys running, having completed two marathons. She especially enjoys spending time with her family, including her two daughters, Andrea and Alexandra, as well as her grandchildren, Jocelyn and Jonah.
